What I did to Jennifer

I’m gonna remember

            For- ever

It was the only time

I ever lost my

            Con-trol

She was just a beautiful lady

And I was just a lonely man

And when she swayed her slender body

I felt a rise I couldn’t understand

Oh when she came to me

She was drunk already

            And es-sy

I took full advantage

Took her to my friend’s place

            And ram-page

She was hot and so exited

And it had hurt me a lot

I fell in love with it

Now look what I got!

(Music)

Four years have passed

Since my first and last

And the only time I will ever have sex

Jen died two years ago

But had let us all know

The eleven of us will be next

I was the last one

But it’s still too late for me

So now I go around

Trying to warm everybody

With the days I have left

About AIDS and sex

And there is no getting away

There is no cure today

For the pain of AIDS

And all it takes is one time!

One time you’re in

Next time you’re out

Cause AIDS is not afraid of anyone

And you don’t know who could be a carrier

Cause I got it from Jennifer

And she was looking so strong

And the way she performed

Made me just want it more and more

Now I got more than I can handle

So I’ll keep on knocking on Heaven’s door

And I’m trying to educate the people

About AIDS!

SAME OLD SAD STORY written by Sheldon Manoo (1998)

I thought that I was stro or or or or ong

But I guess that I was wrong

And now that she’s gor or or or or one

I just got to get along

I knew that she would leave one day

Because she never said she’d forever stay

And how I dreaded this moment from when we started

I’m worse than depressed, more than broken hearted

It’s like a large chunk of my soul has shattered

Didn’t she know she was all that mattered?

I know I don’t have high education or many contacts

But the job I have pays the bills and the tax

But she always said she wanted something better

And I know I wasn’t the greatest lover

But if she had stayed and talk to me

I would understand how to fill her need

Every body used to tell me I was lucky

To have a girl like that loving me

Now they’ll call me names and call me loser

I think I can handle the talk but I really miss her

I hope where she goes and who she finds

Doesn’t ever hurt her body, soul and her mind

I know this happens to a lot of people

It leaves them broken and feeling unsure

And I’m so very strong with my emotions

What about all the very weak ones

I know why there are so many songs written ‘bout someone leaving you

It’s a bad bad feeling and something I wish no one has to go through

But here I am going through it all alone

I got the house, it’s mine but it ain’t no longer a home

If she never comes back can I cope with it?

Can I find me a cure to make this insecurity quit?

And if she comes back to me once again

I’ll still have this fear that she’ll leave when

She sees something better along the way

So our life will never be the same

But someone says that life must go on

Someone wrote a book ‘bout love but it’s wrong

Cause we all got our point of view

And we can’t know everybody’s feelings unless we know them too

SPOKEN: I miss her!

CUSTOMERY VIOLATION written by Sheldon Manoo (1994)

Society’s bringing you down

It’s where you look around

            Everything you love has faded

            Everything you know is jaded

            Everything you yearn is hated

            Every feeling is frustrated

You bleed to take a stand

No one lends a hand

Injustice just prevail

All your battle fails

            Everything’s unappreciated

            No topics’ debated

            Your goals underrated

            I know you hate it

Why can’t people see

They’re not at all free

Won’t you follow me

Or will you let it be

Is it too much for cree?

Or did God damn we?

Everything tried is protested

            Everything died is invested

            Every great cause is digested

            Every antidote is untested

Like cookies in a jar

We’ll never last real far

Though we’re up to par

More blood from an old scar

Don’t know what we are

Look toward the star

Sing hooray hoorah

And laugh ha ha ha

Cause everything you get is blinded

            No one ever stays reminded

It’s better we all get blinded

            Maybe we’ll be better kinded

(Musical bridge)

The things we do today

Ain’t same as the old way

Things are changing fast

So we gotta praise our past

If you wanna be the hero

You gotta save yourself first

Cause if you are not in touch

You’ll end up in the worst

If you wanna innovate

You gotta infiltrate

And lack of concentration

Is your own damnation

Alternative options are hiding

Waiting to be found

Search your mind in triumph

Or never catch the sound

Search your body in triumph

Or always stay right down

Customs tearin you apart

Cursing at your heart

Tradition is the art

But you are much more smart

So go ahead make a start

And make them know where it’s at

            It starts with the pressure

            Then it gets lesser

            Compound your stature

            You’ll have a smasher

Society’s bringing you down

When you look around

Hey it’s your town

Prove that you are bound

            Everything needed is available

            Let them know you’re able

            To turn this worlds’ table

            Power to the people!

SOMETHING ABOUT SOMETHING written by Sheldon Manoo (1994)

PLEASE NOTE THAT ANYONE CAN USE THESE LYRICS FREE OF CHARGE, ALL WE ASK IS TO CREDIT THE BLOG AND PLEASE IF POSSIBLE MAKE A DONATION!

It was something about life

It was something about love

It was something about everything

That affects us

Our words were our weapons

Our minds our ammunition

And in between the crossfire

We made communication

It was everything I dreamt it would be

But it didn’t go as I expected

And wherever I go and whatever I see

It is something that stays connected

(It stays connected)

It was something about now

It was something about then

It was something that we’ll never ever speak again

These times were the subject

And there were various aspects

And it was funny to see how the clowns got vex

(They got vex)

Something about everything

We ever chose to do

Something about nothing

I have done to you

Something about anything

That we must go through

Something about something

No one ever knew

But now we know

Yes now we know

It was something about things

It was something about people

It was something that no one ever found reason

Our souls were our vessels

Our spirit was our captain

We travelled along our journey searching for something

It was everywhere I wanted to go

But not the people I longed to meet

The things I taught and things I learned

Will have me in some way discreet

(I’ll be discreet)

Something about everything

We ever chose to do

Something about nothing

I have done to you

Something about anything

That we must go through

Something about something

No one ever knew

But now we know

Yes now we know

            Something about something I said

            And something I done too

            Something about something I give

            It’s something totally new

There’s gotta be something you can do too

It was something about jobs

It was something about careers

It was something about paths we never before thread

Our contact was refreshing

Our openness so divine

We saw each other in another light this time

It was not the place I wanted it

But it was everything I hoped to feel

It’ll affect my life as long as I give

It’s a verdict I’m unable to appeal

(I can’t appeal)

Something about everything

We ever chose to do

Something about nothing

I have done to you

Something about anything

That we must go through

Something about something

No one ever knew

But now we know

Yes now we know
