In Your World written by Sheldon Manoo
My world is sad and it's so lonely
My world is so much pain and it's me only
I hardly have fun there's no one else here
There's no love and nobody to care
I wish I was a happy girl
I wish I was in your world
Yeah I wish I was in your world
In your world and I'm a happy girl
I want to be there in your world
Your world looks like it's happy and bright
Your world looks like it's really out of sight
On your face there's always a big smile
Anytime I see you, you're full of style
In your life everything comes and goes so easy
But back in my life it's so hard for me
I wish I was a happy girl
And I want to be in your world
I wish I could get out of my world
And go into yours and be a happy girl
I really wish I was in your world
(MUSIC)
Someday I know from my heart
I will have you by my side
And we will never part
Cause I'll be in your world to hide
There in your world...
Okay... I know: It is not that he wished that he were a girl, he just wrote it from a woman's point of view
His Lyrical Expression
I raise my glass of organic non-alcoholic wine to you! At least I think that is what I will tell him for his upcoming birthday. Well it is kind of tacky, especially for a complicated man such as my husband Sheldon.
'I'm going to do it, I swear!'
Let me clarify. Through troubled childhoods and tough youths there is always something to help everyone through life. Music helps and it has helped in both our lives. Here's to our corny teenage years. I think as the idealistic teenagers that we both were, we were drawn to all things artistic. He wrote about '900 million songs', I painted, wrote poetry, songs and stories, which I am not as brave as he is to share.
He kept his songs and poetry in great condition and when he found himself bewildered as to what to do with them, I suggested to him that he should blog them away. "Yeah, but the songs are corny!" blah, blah, blah! To me, this is a better option than to just have them sit there collecting dust.
Everyday I will post a new set of lyrics from his portfolio. You can read them, have a laugh, a cry, try to sing them, share it with a friend or even an unwitting girlfriend that you are trying to impress (wink, wink). Remember that though my husband is a songwriter now, these songs were written in his teenage years from 13 - 18, so there is a corny factor to them. At least this is what he told me.
On the advice of my husband, songs on this blog are free to use. If you use them for professional or amateur reasons, we would want you to notify us. Feel free to send videos of your performances, or perform for us. If you can, send a donation, if you feel that you have benefited from these songs in any way. We will give 5% of all donations to charity. It is something that we try to practise daily.
He is not so computer-savvy, and is skeptical about this, but he will come around soon. I believe. To me, it is better than him just packing them away and hiding them in a dark room. Some one, some where, needs a song, no matter how simple it might be. Think of this as ode, a year long birthday present to my husband. Enjoy the lyrics to songs he wrote from the beginning of time!
