{Stray bullets killed my mother six years ago
Stray bullets from an evil soul}

There's someone with a gun on my street
Walking, smiling, waiting to shoot someone
And there's a war raging in the city beat
And not every soldier has their gun
Stray bullets shot the girl in the crowd
She was listening to Martin Luther speak
Those stray bullets they didn't echo loud
She just dropped down and went to sleep
There's someone with a gun over there
With no no no particular aim
I sense a madness in the air
Would somebody please shoot him
Before stray bullets hit one of us
Send us face down in the ground
Stray bullets are so dangerous
Gun man put away that gun
A man was walking next to Ghandi
A stray bullet shot him in the shoulder
No one who saw said they see
But his whole world is a little bit colder
I don't ever want to own a gun
Lord those things just ain't no fun
I heard on the news
I saw in my nightmares
The damages guns do
And have us living in fear
I know when you got something to say
That people don't like they wanna blow you away
But watch the bullets that stray
Don't shoot the innocent today
My brother was almost killed last night
By a stray bullet, Lord it just ain't right!
We lose so many loved ones each day
For just being in the wrong place
These bullets just don't have names
They'll hit anyone in their way
Oh stray bullets killed a friend's friend last night
And that wasn't even his fight!
There's someone with a gun pointed at you
But don't be alarmed just hope they don't fire
Cause I'm in the same predicament too
But I just pray that God take my soul higher
And dodge me from those stray bullets,
Those stray bullets!
