CRAZY TO THINK I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH TO HER written By Sheldon Manoo (1993)

She was a lady of about twenty nine

I stared at her every time she walked by

I was just 18 looking for love

Longing for someone who knew enough

Age or race it didn’t matter to me

Still it don’t cause we all are free

She had four young ones, beautiful kids

I wouldn’t have mind walking into this, I said

Oh she was pretty as she could be

She was independent her husband had leave

Every day I would stand there watching her face

She might have thought I was a little crazed

But I could think about sharing her life with mine

And those kids no they didn’t mind  oh oh

But she was never interested in this heart of mine!

(Music)

She was a woman with a nice smoothe body

I’ll never forget when she smiled at me

Every time I saw her doing something for the children

I knew she just lived her life for them

She didn’t have time for a man much less a boy

But she didn’t know how I could have give her joy

I still picture her pretty face

I guess I’ll do that always

Now I’ a thirty year old bachelor

In a country that’s so far from her

I guess she probably settled down with some man

Who’ll probably love her the best he can

The children probably are more but still she loves them

I just hope they don’t go through these tough problems

And it was crazy to think I could have got through to her!
