When the music’s over

Turn off the light

Close another chapter

Of another night

With a song playing in your soul

It keeps you warm throughout the cold

When you pick up your instrument

And play the things you meant

It soothes away the frustration

And brings you some satisfaction

Even when you play your song so loud

Trying to please that whole crowd

Sometimes it just won’t be so tight

Sometimes you will blow their eager minds

But for a man who believes in music

He tries to find a way to prove it

            For people to use it

And for the girl who trust in music

She’s always gonna want to do it

            For us to love it

            But for the musician

Who can’t live like the song

            Isn’t really living at all!

Play me some music dear musician!

(Solo)

How does the whole world love a song?

Is it of the words or of the music?

Will they always love that same old song?

Or will time make them forget about it?

Does the singer, writer, player makes a difference to the mood?

Does the style of music make it more acceptable? Oh

All I know is that the song remains the same

But the musician always change

And nobody believes in the musician

And nobody loves the musician

Nobody respects the musician

Whose song is never heard!

And even if they do

They’re never fairly true

Cause when the music’s over

They just turn off the lights

And turn off the life

Of the musician!

Who feels like the musician?

The true meaning of the song!
