It was a rainy night and the band did not show up to play

And we stood in the crowd so very disappointed

Then they announced that everyone would be refunded

She whispered if it was me I’d still show up to play

I heard her and said it’s the same thing I would do

She turned and asked, “So you’re a musician too?”

We exchanged numbers and we said goodbye

‘bout two o’ clock that morning I heard my phone ring

As I picked up she asked if I was writing one for her

I said no I was not writing I was playing my guitar

We had a conversation, we talked bout everything

The sun had come out when we were through

I said well someday I must play with you

And hung up the phone with a smile on my face

Well we did get together to play

And our combination went down well

She said do you love as good as you play

You’re a fine guy I could tell

Then we were kissing!
