And she still walks the night

Does she feel alright?

She’ll ask for a smoke

You think it’s a joke

Roaming the streets for so long

So long her fear has been gone

And she used to be a nice girl

And she used to smile for the simple things

And it used to be a different world

She never knew any such suffering

Lord have mercy on her tainted soul

She’s so young but looks so old

And she doesn’t get any more chances

Every day is just another crave

To the drugs she’s another slave

            A victim of terrible circumstances

She’s got a disease that they just can’t cure

Wonder if she feels anything anymore?

She had looks to kill but her body’s dead

I wonder what goes on in her head

If I had the guts I’ll take her hand

Show her other reasons for a man

Cause a friend indeed is one in need

Who’ll be the plaster when you bleed

I wonder if she looks back on her life

And see she could have been someone’s wife

Or the career she could have chosen

Mend her soul it’s really broken, Lord! (short drum solo)

Lord have mercy on her tainted soul

She’s so young but looks so old

And she doesn’t get any more chances

Every day is just another crave

To the drugs she’s another slave

            A victim of terrible circumstances

She’s not a victim of desire

Not a victim of the truth

Not a victim of a murder

Not a victim of a brute

She’s a victim of bad mistakes

A victim of a heart that aches

A victim of scornful glances

And terrible circumstances

(Solo)

And she still walks the night

(Another victim}

And she’s losing life’s fight

(Just a victim)

And she doesn’t know romances

(Lonely victim)

Of terrible circumstances

Terrible circumstances

Terrible

Circumstances!
