CITIZENS ARRESTED Part 1: The Convictions (12/12/06) By Sheldon SB Manoo

Man on the street

Trying to save a land

From corporate beasts

In forms like man

Walking on by

You laugh as you pass

The prices are high

But his task is crass

They don't like rock and roll

In this country

Not even hip-hop, soul,

Jazz, blues, R&B

They don't want

The citizens happy

For more than a day

In sweet TNT

These aluminum smelters

They will not shelter

Our economy

Nor the ecology

Who'll get acquisitions

Of managerial positions

Lying politicians

It's not our citizens

Would you be a fool

To believe in three letters

When since 1962

Only the wealthy prosper

Would you be fooled

And stain your index finger

For another five years

Of pressure, torture, pressure

Some people don't know

What really is a spouse

Infidelity, violence

Demons in the house

Absentee fathers

And the barrel mothers

No role model except for

Gang leaders, drug dealers

{Why don't you build a smelter in your backyard Mann-

ing your life you'd understand your stupid plan} repeat to end

[They're raping the country

Draining the economy

Pillaging the ecology

The lawless judiciary

And they want to arrest me

For protesting, being angry] repeat as well
