Someone pushed my daddy, out the window, and he died

And I was just too much, in my grief, to cry

The inspectors came, and searched real hard, for evidence

But nothing they found, not a single clue, so they went

My mama cried all day, and all night too, many people came

They were all hugging me, talking ‘bout him, and comforting.

(Music)

Well the years have gone now and I’m much older

They never found anyhow who killed my father

And my mama she still miss him

My brother went on his own way

My older sister started back smiling

She got married so I had to stay

I got to take care of mommy

She doesn’t seem to want to live anymore

Someone’s got to take care of mommy

And I know I owe her that for sure

(Music)

When I was five years old I remember

What daddy did to my big sister

Though she never really told anyone

I saw what he had done

And sometime when I was ten

He did the same to me again

I was so ashamed I couldn’t tell nobody

I was so ashamed and so goddam angry

He was putting on his tie by the window that morning

I was so mad I ran and I pushed him

My love I’ve never told another

But I’m my daddy’s killer!

Female Spoken “Oh Dear!”
