Love was such a crazy game that we both tried to play

But we were young and so foolish back in those tumultuous days

We got married so young and you got pregnant so fast

And after our third child we couldn’t seem to last

Something went wrong in both you and me

But we were hot headed and didn’t care to see

So we just got separated

It really affected those kids

 

I went out and rent me a small place

While we’re preparing to get a divorce

You had another man it didn’t work out

Now your new man he got two boys

I tried dating a couple of times but nothing serious ever came of them

And honey I’m telling you today we’re both facing a serious problem

You see I realize now after so long apart

You’re the only woman to fill this hole in my heart

And we’re still married legally

And got kids not one but three

 

And I know that man could never love our kids the way I do

And maybe he won’t love you as I do too

What I’m saying is all of this could have been avoided

If we had sit and talk it out so long ago

And for our sake please baby heed my plea

Let me come back home and let love grow

 

It’s in the best interest of the kids and it’s better for all concerned

And if that man really cares for you, he’ll tell you to let me come back home

Lately I been feeling so miserable, having the kids once in a while just won’t do

I want to see them grow every day and I want to spend my life with you

Cause ain’t we married and that’s what married people do!

 

I swear I won’t make mistakes this time

Let’s put back the true meaning in our marriage

We both work hard and do the best we can
